The Colearn team came to us with a problem statement unique to the south-east Asian e-learning industry. The teaching profession no longer garnered the respect it very well deserved. The infrastructure around educational institutions was broken and the market had also been seeing a steady supply gap for talented and innovative teachers. To add to that, long working hours and low remunerative benefits largely discouraged young STEM graduates from the teaching profession – Teaching was just not ‘cool’ anymore. This bottleneck had a direct impact on Colearn, who are trying to revolutionize learning and make it accessible to a wide audience.
To tap into these specific micro-markets, and to expand market share despite a lockdown, METRO came to us with a mandate of a series of TVCs to creatively position Metro Wholesale and its myriad offerings for traders, restaurateurs, and small business owners of India.
To change the negative perception of the teaching profession and make it more exciting, we crafted two films across two countries that showed how teaching with CoLearn can be a fulfilling career option that allows for flexibility and great potential for personal and professional growth.
We zeroed-in on a route where we took the audience through a day in the life of star teachers at Colearn – showing them do what they love most in wonderful environments – whether it was at home or outside – and not in a dingy school. The narrative focused on the incredible impact these young teachers were having on the lives of thousands of students across the country.
