Brief
In the day and age where short-form video content is rapidly on the rise, author and journalist Shoba Narayan came to us with a refreshing new problem statement for a long-form content property that celebrates Indian handloom and jewelry crafts while addressing some fundamental questions such as: How do you make the consumer more aware? How do we inspire them to know and value the craftsmanship of what they hold in their hands? And the trickiest of the lot – how do we shoot these stories across the country without having to break the bank?
Our Approach
This involved gaining a deep understanding of the subject with Shoba, getting to know the artisans and their stories, asking the right questions, and capturing the creative process beautifully.
As part of the series, we crafted six visually stunning short documentary films that captured – both the jewelry and textile production process – from start to finish. We hand-picked collaborators who traveled with us to some of the most artistically historic places in the world of Indian handloom and jewelry, documenting the various crafts and the journey of craftspeople who toil away in anonymity to create the beautiful jewels and textiles that we wear today.
